Hardware

The CE-certified wireless M-Bus gateway (OMS standard, 868 MHz) supports indoor and outdoor installation via screws or adhesive. A variant is available for the Spanish UNE82326 standard. With an integrated cellular modem (Nordic nRF9160), LTE Cat NB1/NB2 (Narrowband IoT), and an optimized antenna, the gateway enables reliable communication and wireless reading of up to 50 meters. Powered by a durable battery, it ensures autonomous operation for at least 12 years. The IP67-rated housing offers robust protection, and an NFC tag with an external label simplifies identification.

Data transmission

Metering Cloud Connect relies on Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT), a globally regulated LPWA technology, for secure and reliable communication with wireless M-Bus meters, including water, gas, and heat meters. Equipped with a factory-installed and tested Vodafone Global SIM card, it enables immediate data transmission in over 25 countries without additional setup. Thanks to LPWA's deep indoor penetration and low energy consumption, stable connections are ensured even in challenging locations like basements.

Self Service Portal

The custom-built backend and frontend enable the configuration and management of devices as well as the setup of data interfaces. Users can check whether all meters are covered by the gateway and adjust transmission frequencies or intervals as needed. Meter and consumption data are securely transmitted and seamlessly integrated into existing systems using formats such as HTTPS, MQTT, or CSV. The portal provides a central platform for efficient administration and optimal data distribution.
